This is an original jazz series created by Shen during late winter, 2002. Inspired by the flowing Jazz grooves. Shen took the style from her original jazz paintings to the next step. Combining her famous airbrush technique for the base, Shen continued her study of color and acrylic brush technique. "Jazz inspired me during my childhood years, jazz paintings became a natural outlet to establish my style and painting technique. Through the years jazz has been one of my biggest sources of inspiration." This new series brought one more aspect to her jazz work, light and the existence of jazz as a positive influence in her life. |
